DMIRS

As of October DMIRS have issued a new outline and criteria for CPD Applications.  This will make achieving CPD points for training harder to achieve.  The criteria has also been reduced and must fit into the following categories:-

  • Relevant legislation (e.g. Real Estate and Business Agents Act 1978, Australian Consumer Law, Fair Trading Act 2010, Residential Tenancies Act 1987, etc.);

  • Avoiding, minimising and/or managing risk (e.g. fraud, employee dishonesty, audit qualifications);

  • Industry best practice (e.g. trust accounting; identity verification; conflict of interests);

  • Complaint resolution (e.g. internal practices; service standards); and/or

  • Business environments that are productive, innovative, fair and safe.

As at 31st December 2018 all approved courses at all training providers will expire and new applications for all training will be required.  This may take some time for the department to process the workload.  Watch this space to see what training is available in 2019.

Once again I suggest that all property managers book in early to complete their CPD training early in the year.
